I’m taking a long break from my day to day interaction with people for the next few months. This isn’t because I’m pissed off with anyone, it’s more of a “It’s time to stop all the distractions” sort of thing.
Starting tomorrow afternoon, Deejay and I are going to lock ourselves in Jeff’s basement over the long holiday weekend in an attempt to knock out A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY, I DREAM OF DJINNI, OUT OF THE LAMP, and SHORTLY AFTER NIGHTFALL. I’m not sure we can get all four of them done, but we’ll get as much done as possible. Whatever we don’t, Deejay will have to take with him to Redding, California where he’ll have to finalize everything in his hotel room which he’ll be staying at for the next four months. Meanwhile, the DVD/BluRay covers are coming along quite nicely…
I’m taking all of September away from other human beings to knock out ISABELLE. From there, Steve and I will see what needs to be shot and get the rest of that stuff done in October. The prologue, originally scheduled for November, will have to be pushed to the spring due to Deejay’s four month work detail. Unless everyone wants to film in the middle of the night in Nebraska in January and February. Yeah, didn’t think so.
If all goes well, SHIVERS should be done this Fall, and ISABELLE ready for the 10 year anniversary of Dead Lantern Pictures next May. Hopefully around that time, we’ll be able to get NBR rollin’, but if not, I’m ready to move on with my non-filmmaking career. 10 years of hangin with friends, creating great memories, and putting out lousy product is more than most people get to do. Hell, just the fact that we did it is an accomplishment. I know lots of “Man, I wish I could make a movie” guys. We actually went out and DID it. There’s something to be proud about there.
I’ll try and post some screenshots here this weekend of our progress with SHIVERS.
